I made this painting just two days before the sea tore away these railings at the 'Springers' on Red Island, Skerries, last winter... all the time I painted, I thought about my good friend and comrade George... and our conversation, while we swam in the sea together feeling exhilarated on the actual day that we swam through these waves.
